Privacy notes
What we collect, and why.
We're trying to build a useful product, not run a marketing engine. Here's the plain-English version.
What we collect when you take the survey
- The answers you select.
- A keyed hash of your IP address — used only to spot bot floods. We can't reverse it back to your IP.
- Your browser's User-Agent string and (if any) referring page — used to know "are mobile users dropping out at Q5?"
What we don't do
- No tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no ad cookies.
- No reselling, no list-sharing, ever.
- We don't try to identify you across visits or sessions.
If you give us your email
It's optional, at the very end. We use it for one thing: to email you when the product is ready, so you can try it. If you change your mind and want us to drop your address, email hello@roam2home.net and we'll take it out.
Where the data lives
On a server we run, in a database we manage. Postgres on a Hetzner Cloud machine in Ashburn, VA, USA. Backups are encrypted at rest.
How long we keep it
Survey responses: indefinitely while we're using them to shape the product. We expect to delete or aggregate them once the product ships and we no longer need raw inputs. If you'd like your response deleted sooner, email hello@roam2home.net — we don't have a way to look up your answers by email (responses and email addresses live in separate tables and are only loosely linked) but we'll do what we can.
Questions?
Email hello@roam2home.net. We read every message.
